 M' name is Vynlyann Calstrinest, a lit'l student of the art of the staff.
 M' father before m' and 'is father before 'im have served the lady, and the
 eye all their lives, an' now I come ta make my life within th' same.  M'
 accent may be thick but I can tell ya that m' mind and staff are no'.  

 I've lived with the balance all m' life.  M' father retired to Ashta Harrud
 after he retired, and that is where i've gotten mot me training from ta be
 honest.  M' father was a knight of knights as he tells me, and I 'ope that I
 can only live up to his name.  

 I've been taught nothing but the balance in me life, the teachin's and the
 principl's an now I come to ask if I can be gran'ed the chance to prove both
 m' staff and my 'eart to the lady an yers'lves.

 Hail, knights, or 'haps hail Xenelien, who be the Knight I 'ave met. 
 I've spoken of Enaerai with 'im, an' with those guid'd by the windwolf, an'
 learned what I could.  Now I seek a more formal audience, to see if I can
 fit into this pack, or knighthood as yer'd call it.  I am a drui' of true
 balance, an' althoug I r'ceived mos' of my knowledge in the guild in a
 differn' way than through the circle o' druids, I've finish'd my trainin' in
 the guild.  

 The urges of those of the win'wolves I share, somewhat, although I doub'
 those urges are my own, but rather linked to the figure that tracked me down
 i' the hills north of Morn, an' planted a seed of thoughs in me.  I've ha' a
 rather vicious life since then, yet it seems my inner nature is strong
 'nough to be balancin' the wild within me.  

 The Captain Xenelien migh' know more of me, if yer wish to know, an I can be
 written to, or foun' roaming the woods of Avendar.

Kyvaki and I were raised by a pair of newly wed Knights who found us huddled
together in the carnage of our families shared cave dwelling as wrought by
the overzealous Champions of the Tower of Aramril.   They raised us in the
Strictures of the Goddess Enaerai and taught us to be independent while
teaching to also work together.We were taught to think not only using pure
logic but to listen to what our intuition was telling us. This Balanced
approach serves me extremely well as a student of the Arts of the Templars of
Air.

We lost our adoptive parents to a raid by vengeance seeking Guardians who were also
followers of Iandir. They slew them both and burned our home down to the
ground, fortunately we were already in enrolled in our Guilds in Var Bandor. 
Seeing what imbalances in the Land causes first hand has strengthened my
resolve to be a Blade for Balance in the Land hopefully as well as a member
of your Order.  I know that for the Land to grow and evolve there must be
birth guided by Order and by Good, growth guided by the Balance, and finally
decay by Chaos and Dark.  All forces working in harmony to create the Balance
of Existence.

Please feel free to ask me to aid in any way I can, I am patience and willing
to let the Goddess` will be done.

<b>Handling Knight Interactions:</b>
As a rule Enaerai doesn't appear in Avendar to mortals.  Interactions and guidance of knights is generally handled through the NPC Irionne, former priest at the temple of Enaerai who now serves as healer in the knight fortress.  Irionne has typically been played as a seeming senile and doddering old water scholar with occasional moments of clarity and wisdom.

When Enaerai does favor a promising knight with interaction, it is through Enaerai's immortal room (<b>1261: A White Plain</b>), where Enaerai appears in vision-like fashion to the knight through the tri-stone upon the hillside.  In even rarer cases Enaerai comes through the tri-stone to interact with a mortal.  However, in Enaerai's concept of balance,
immortal interaction should be limited less it exert undue influence, and so as painful as it is, Knights are given free reign to run the order (unless they really muck things up, in which case they may be disbanded for a time, as happened in the summer of 2002).

<b>Origins:</b>
The knights began some two years after Avendar opened, as a player-led group coordinated by me (Dovolente).  I had been brainstorming ideas about a militant order dedicated to upholding balance, and another player (Stimmy) had developed the idea of Enaerai, a balance deity, and we decided to collaborate and invite other players to join us.

The initial group of knights was led by my character Tessolos, and met in the arien way inn.  There were eleven or twelve players involved after a few weeks, and the concept impressed Jolinn enough that he kindly added a temple of Enaerai and a knight compound to Earendam.

The first group of knights eventually died out, but an occasional player or two would take up the role.

When I re-immed in the fall of 01, I chose to take Enaerai as my immortal role, and made the knights a more formalized part of the game.  The knights now form something between a band of Enaerai followers and a House (they have they various house features in the code, aside from a vault for stones of power, so the various if house checks, house tell, and note to knight work for knights, though technically they aren't a house).
