Lord Serachel,
+
Ever since my twelfth year have I been enamoured with Your Cause.  For years
+
have I read all that is extant on You, and studied that which You embody.
+
Only recently, in the years prior to now, have I determined that my goals
+
are similar to what the literature states are Yours.  Reading the words of
+
the tomes in the Earendam Library was like a concert of the most beautiful
+
music ever.  It seems as if some ancient power had delved into my mind and
+
scribbled its thoughts there in a gorgeous, flowing script.
+

+
Since then, I have set out into the world, and begun my studies of the Mind.
+
I have worked to become one with Thought, so that I may best create
+
elabourate facades for others who would wish to do me harm.
+

+
I realize that my current title is unimpressive, to say the least.  Yet my
+
reasons for petitioning You now are many.  Were I to wait, and word were to
+
pass about the realms on my mindset (which none know of now, I can assure
+
You), my acceptance into Your fold would be moot.  What good would it be to
+
decieve, if all knew of the deception beforehand?  Conversely, if You accept
+
me while I am still young in age and title, I will be best able to continue
+
my great facade against the unenlightened world with far less fear of being
+
discovered.  While I do not believe that an early acceptance into Your fold
+
is necessary to achieve my goals, I do believe it to be highly advantageous,
+
from the point of view of tact and utility.
+

+
I await your word anxiously, Lord, while my Orchestra tunes its instruments.
+
Aid me in creating the most beautiful music ever, and all the world shall
+
sway to our Melodies.
+

+
Your servant always,
+

== Background ==
+
<pre>Born into a family of petty nobility in Var Bandor, Inyaidu Rehlyar was
+
brought up with the proverbial silver spoon.  Proverbs aside, she was mostly
+
a bratty child who demanded that things be done her way "or else."  Not much
+
exploration of what the "or else" meant was seen, however, since she seemed
+
to have the uncanny ability to make her parents do whatever she wished.
+

+
As a child, Inyaidu did a large amount of sitting around her house.  Her
+
father was a rather successful merchant and her mother a fledgling
+
courtesan, so she often found herself at the center of attention of a number
+
of travelers.  She highly disliked this attention at first, and often would
+
lock herself in her room, thinking about how much she wanted to be left
+
alone.  As a result, she usually was.  As time went by, however, she began
+
to find herself more and more amused by the reactions that each traveler had
+
to her wishes to remain out of the social life.  She began changing her
+
attitudes markedly for different visitors, and attempting to discover what
+
they responded best to.  Eventually, she found great joy in creating these
+
false facades for herself, and began reading into the history of deception.
+
She joined her father on one of his many trips to Earendam, and discovered
+
within the library there a few old tomes detailing the aeiln worship of
+
Serachel before his fall.
+

+
This fascinated Inyaidu greatly, and she began delving more deeply into the
+
small amounts of literature written about the Lord of the Fallen in the
+
years since.  Most of it was written in Aelin, however, so she taught
+
herself enough of the tongue to understand it, though her bias toward older
+
forms of the language have proved frustrating in her comprehension of the
+
language as it is today.
+

+
Once Inyaidu reached the age of eighteen, she left her parents' home in Var
+
Bandor and took up study with Kisjam, in an effort to learn more about her
+
own mental abilities of suggestion.  She has dedicated herself to finding
+
out more about the Lord of the Fallen, for she believes that his guidance
+
will help her to better manipulate her foes into believing her entirely
+
innocent.
+

+
On her first day within the School of Heroes, Inyaidu convinced a pair of
+
ch'taren to join with her, and to aid her in education.  This she saw as a
+
sign from Serachel as to her future, and toward the fact that she would be
+
able to eventually coerce the entirety of the Light into believing that
+
something other than a will to control all things burns beneath.</pre>

[ 38] Inyaidu: Fealty. Thu Feb 13 21:16:37 2003 To: shunned Lords and Ladies of the Eternal,

I hope that this message reaches those of you who remain one with the material plane. I have taken great pains to assure the save travel of this note to your Halls in complete and utter secrecy, secure in the belief that it will be distributed appropriately.

Allow me to introduce myself. I am the mincraftress Inyaidu, of the Bandorian house Rehlyar. I am a student of the Mind, and all of its machinations. My goal in life has always been to affect those around me, either through thought or word. I have spent most of my ninteen years studying the correct application of words to action, and action to will. While I must admit that I am nowhere near the level of accomplishment of many of You, I do believe that I already have some small influence on the modes and methods of thought of many of the inhabitants of the realm. For example, I have recently been able to coerce two adventurers-- a scholar of earth and a templar of flame-- into accepting me as their 'friend. ' While this may seem only a small feat at present, the fact that both of them have stated that 'all humans look the same,' and that 'most humans are worthy only of smashing' (I paraphrase, of course) are yet willing to accept myself, a human, into their company is most impressive. Might they be planning some grand retribution against me? Perhaps. Yet I am confident in my ability to keep their blades pointed squarely away from me for the rest of our time together.

As far as the actual manipulation of thought, I must also admit that I am not particularly advanced in rank, nor standing. Yet it is for this reason that I write to You now. I have witnessed several incidents lately that have made me decide to seek You now, rather than later. All of them have happened within my beautiful City, and have caused my faith in the general populace to wane heavily. The first involved a 'conversation' between a pair of rogues that ultimately degenerated into violence, and the death of the outnumbered man. While it was well to see this simpleton swept from the streets, it broke my heart to witness the greed with which the three victors stripped the dead man's corpse of things. Such lawlessness, such blatant disregard for society as a whole, shakes me to my very core. The second instance involved a pair of female archmagi who spoke to each other in such a simple tongue it was practically below me to even comprehend it. They patted each other's heads patronizingly, and giggled and snickered like the overgrown children they are. One of the Archmagi toyed recklessly with illusions of great power, which ultimately ended up being nothing more than overblown tricks. This, combined with the single-mindedness of the Champion Aehaeser simply turned my stomach. They do not truly Know themselves, nor have they any true sight into the function of truth in the land. Rather than seek knowlege or thought, they seek meaningless giggling and trite statements of mock heroism.

I write to You, great masters of the Eternal, because I seek a new home. A home in which my penchant for Knowledge will be appreciated. A place in which I can find Truth in knowing, and Knowing in truth. An abode where the intellect is not left to be crushed, smited, or otherwise left to the winds of chaos that seem to have taken over Var Bandor.

I ask you to judge me. To take all the force within me and see it as the potential for success-- and, most importantly, power-- that it is.

I shall await your reply as long as is necessary. Inyaidu Rehlyar.
