OLC Section 0
Our OLC system is the means by which you, as a builder, can create areas, mobs, objects, and rooms, and the progs associated with them.
In this document, we'll take you step by step through creating an area, as well as a complete description of what any and all of the editors do.
The basic structure of building is the notion that every room, mob (or "mobile"--a creature or non-player character), object, and area has a vnum associated with representatives of each time. Areas are allocated a range of numbers, in which numbered rooms can be built. Objects and mobs built for an area are numbered according to the same scale (I.e., suppose your area is vnums 60000-60100. Mobs and objs in the area will be numbered 60000-60100 as well.
You will be assigned vnums by upper level imms. With these vnums, you will build until your fingers run red with blood.
