The Nordath concept started out in a poem "The Walls of Nordath" composed by the long-dead pc gleeman Dovolente (and when I posted the first part and asked who should win the battle, the only one to reply was Sythrak...).

24005 = glared at by Xichev (part of remove quest - this will cause chars. to have chance of midnight nightmares.)

  • the secret lab was added in my absense 2008-2010, don't know the details there.

  • there used to be some CURSE FUN! When a PC died in most rooms of Nordath, a skeleton mob would rise in his/her place, get the eq, and the pccorpse will be purged. But that made the area too risky for ranking (one of its primary intended purpsoses--phantoms and skeletal srryn were stat copies of Brintor Cave chaja and minors--and so was removed.
  • the main mobs, the phantom knights and skeletal srryn, are auto-spawning -- they don't use normal resets.
  • quest - remove the curse: the main mobs will not appear if someone has completed the quest to end the curse of Nordath
  • quest - restore the curse: the main mobs reappear if someone completes the quest to restore the curse
  • the main mobs are summoned to relive a battle in the courtyard of the ruins every midnight, as is anyone wearing the shadowy tabard (obj 24018). The tabard can be removed by completing the end-curse quest.
  • quest: the old witch (Mother Lajway - 24002) gives obj reward (floating sphere that gives nasty plague during combat)
  • quest: the ethron trapper (Ralle - 24007) gives minor mob reward (bear hound)
  • trivia: Lajway is a direct adaptation of Robert Frost's "The Witch of Coos", and a few other atmospherics in the area are inspired by his poems :)
