Khil'Ayum

The khil'ayum are incredibly dangerous and evil creatures, imprisoned by the Titans in the White Castle. They are mortal ("the last few stay out their miserable years in these cells") and are nearly eradicated.

Description of a Khil'Ayum

The khil'ayum are a brutish race that once dwelt in the catacombs of the Darken Reaches. They preyed upon humans and other sentient races, and it is said that the terror they inflicted through their ravages fed them as much as the flesh that they rent from innocent bones. Once entrenched in an area, the khil'ayum are nearly impossible to exterminate, as their evasive capabilities are formidable. Several centuries ago they spread across many lands, and the Titans finally intervened. Now the remainder of their kind is locked in the Astral Prison.

Description of the Siyyad Khil'Ayum

The siyyad khil'ayum was the terrible leader of the foul race, until his kind were subdued by the hand of the Titans. A massive specimen, the siyyad's eyes gleam with hatred and ferocify, and curving fangs protrude from his mouth.

From The Hall of Pillars (8455)

The bas-relief on this pillar shows the sealing of the Darken Reaches, the catacombs that housed the dreadful khil'ayum. In the background, mages are shown working to bind the remaining khil'ayum for containment in the Astral Prison.

From The Astral Prison (8465)

The cells in this hallway contain the last of the khil'ayum. Their wicked kind preyed on the people of Uil for generations, and soon spread to many other lands. Intervention became necessary, and the last few stay out their miserable years in these cells.
