Syceera

A Syceera is a ch'taren construction, a slender tower or minaret at the top of which a globe of spiritlight burns. As the spiritlight cannot be detected by those of ill intent, the Syceera work in one sense as lighthouses, helping to guide friends to the cht'aren havens. The globes of spiritlight on the Syceera are works of the most powerful order of spiritmagic, and demons cannot abide the presense of such workings. And so the Syceera also serve as a defense against demonic forces. Jh'ten, ch'taren haven of the waves, and Avayn, ch'taren haven of the ice, both have twin Syceera that serve the dual function of beacons and defenders.
