Greetings to those that make up the Coven of the Shunned.  Over the past
months of my wanderings through Avendar I have compiled a small cache of
information regarding the buried halls deep within the mountains.  I have
heard that you hold the keys to the paths of power and know how to open the
doors to eternity.  Your members seek out the lost arts of life and death
bring them into your service.  You are credited with being the best mortal
manipulators in existance and those with farthest reaching webs of
influence.  Those of the Coven are the few who stand behind layers of
shadows making the world dance to their tune without anyone being the wiser.
You are the masters of Avendar and I wish to join your ranks and bring the
Coven to an ascendancy that has only been dreamed of.

Since my earliest years I have always had a fascination for the unknown.  I
would wander through the lower levels of the cavern city exploring the caves
and looking for anything that would help me pass the time.  I found more
than I had bargained for one day.  I was diving in the undersea when I came
upon the ruined wreck of a trading ship, curious as to how such a thing
could be inside a mountain I swam into the cabin.  There I found the
captains log and brought it back to the surface with me.  The log described
the last voyage of the ship and the tragic accident that sent it into the
void.  What I read within that book fascinated me in way nothing else had.
The tale of the dark sea lit only by a red star and the horrors that the
captain encountered.  The concept that other worlds and realities existed
and could be reached consumed me and I began to search the caverns for more
information.  Unfortunately for me I had little time left to explore though
at the time I was unaware of my encroaching fate.

After leaving Rah Nefor and initiating my training in the tower of earth I
continued to search for information regarding what the log spoke of and the
magics used to reach that plane.  It was my curiousity that led me to the
halls of the Coven and it is there that I wish to reside.  If you accept me
into your halls I shall devote my life to furthering the desires of the
Coven.  My powers in the earth will be at your call and the results of my
research shall be yours.  I am looking forward to meeting with the leaders
of the Coven on a formal basis and shall await word from you.
