To: Rehvenes
Join me within Yithoul, at the Arena of Torture, if you seek a future.

Rehvenes> You think 'What's this?'
Rehvenes> You think 'Hmmm, finding this place has never been my specialty.'
Rehvenes> You think 'Ohh well, patience will aid me.'

/* He was taking too long, so.. */
personal> A sudden darkness envelops your eyes, and you feel cold tendrils grasp at you! When next you open your eyes, you are in a new location.
The Theatre of Public Torture
The flat surface of the cavern floor is interrupted by the shuddeni
priests' theatre of public torture. Set slightly to the east of the temple
walls, a semi-circular pit is dug approximately 4' into the stone. Four
curving steps lead down to the seating area. A raised platform has been
erected against the temple wall, and manacles have been bolted to the stone
blocks. At either end of the platform stand flaming braziers which give off
a pungent smoke. The stone of the wall is streaked with blood and bits of
flesh, the remnants of former victims.

[Exits: north east south]
(White Aura) Rehvenes the human is here.
(Red Aura) A chaja servant walks about the city, attending his master's business.
(Red Aura) The shuddeni citizen strides purposefully along the cavern floor.
A human slave is chained to the wall of the temple.
(Red Aura) A shuddeni dressed in the robes of a Priest of Pain prepares for his ritual of torture.

Rehvenes shakes his head, and looks around.

A shadowy figure says with a voice smooth as silk 'Take your time much, do you?'

Rehvenes> The chained slave writhes and moans in pain!

Rehvenes chuckles, saying 'Finding this place has never been one of my......finer traits.'

A shadowy figure rises from her seat with a slow shrug, saying 'It never was for me when I was afflicted with your.. state.. either.'
A shadowy figure curls a shadowy finger toward you, saying 'Come.'

Rehvenes nods slowly.
Rehvenes now follows you.

A Shuddeni Dwelling

[Exits: south]
(Red Aura) A chaja bodyguard watches over his shuddeni master's dwelling.
(Invis) (Red Aura) A shuddeni priest rests in his home.
Rehvenes has arrived.

A shadowy figure pauses in the doorway, saying 'I do so like this place.'
A shadowy figure alights on wings of darkness to the priest, then leans forward toward him.
You see the flash of an eyeless face on the figure's head as she kisses the priest.

Rehvenes nods slightly in agreement, saying 'I believe I could grow to like it.'

The shuddeni priest smiles faintly, then begins to cough, a black ichor issuing forth from his nose.
You hear the shuddeni priest's death cry.

A shadowy figure brushes a bit of shadowy hair back from her obscured face, waving the chaja to the south.

The chaja bodyguard leaves south.

A shadowy figure sits on a chair, crossing her legs.

A small smirk crosses Rehvenes' face as he looks at the corpse.

A shadowy figure states 'That's what this is all about, is it not? Growth.'

Rehvenes> Wynliean tells you 'I trust that you are still coming along nicely?'

Rehvenes> You tell Wynliean 'I am.'

Rehvenes> Wynliean tells you 'And what is it that you do?'

Rehvenes takes a seat on the ground.

Rehvenes> You tell Wynliean 'I am...busy.'

Rehvenes> Wynliean tells you 'I see.'

Rehvenes says, his eyes surveying the room 'Aye, it is.'

A shadowy figure folds her fingers before her, their shadows blending to create one dark mass. 'So speak on it, then. Why is it you seek us?'

[SHUNNED] a shadowy figure: Ah, initiate Wynliean.

[SHUNNED] Wynliean: Yes madam?

[SHUNNED] a shadowy figure: Mm, nothing in particular. I speak with this Rehvenes fellow, as the Priestess has directed.
[SHUNNED] a shadowy figure: Do not join us.

Rehvenes answers 'After a certain...incident, my eyes where finally slightly opened to the fact that there is a greater truth, one generally ignored, or perhaps fogotten, by the world.'

[SHUNNED] a shadowy figure: Though I do request that you speak with me on his state, and your thoughts on him, as a whole.

[SHUNNED] Wynliean: I shall indeed.

A shadowy figure leans back comfortably in her chair, asking 'And what might that Truth be?'

Rehvenes continues, his eyes looking into the darkness 'The truth is unique to each who seeks it, but, it all grows from one common thing.'

[SHUNNED] Wynliean: As I had told Madam Lilisa, his fiance and I have performed the rite of the dragon of void upon his soul at the altar of death.

Rehvenes states 'That thing is knowledge.'

[SHUNNED] Wynliean: I am not sure if you are aware of her, a nefortian earth templar named Raelira.
[SHUNNED] Wynliean: I believe we've spoken her name only briefly in passing.

Rehvenes states, shifting his weight 'I seek the knowledge frowned upon by the blind, and a place to seek that knowledge.'
[SHUNNED] a shadowy figure: I have read her scrolls, yes.

[SHUNNED] Wynliean: However, since the rite was performed, he has come quite further then even I had hoped.

A shadowy figure says, contentedness evident in her voice 'And you believe that place to be with Us?'

[SHUNNED] a shadowy figure: How so?

[SHUNNED] Wynliean: It seems as though the void he so tirelessly seeks for answers.. has taken him over in a way.

[SHUNNED] a shadowy figure: I see.
[SHUNNED] a shadowy figure: To what extent?

Rehvenes answers simply 'I do.'
Rehvenes looks at you.

[SHUNNED] Wynliean: His thoughts have become clearer and more precise. His mind is no longer bound by the mortal laws of the realm it seems.
[SHUNNED] Wynliean: More so to the laws of the veil and our own order in all reality.

A shadowy figure nods once, saying 'Indeed, indeed. So through us, you seek to do.. what? Spread knowledge?'

Rehvenes shakes his head, saying 'To simply "spread knowledge" is foolish, so many are not ready, or do not truely deserve true wisdom.'

[SHUNNED] Wynliean: However, I do not believe his transformation completed until he is stripped of the sphere that he now holds himself within.

[SHUNNED] a shadowy figure: That much was acknowledged by the Priestess, as well.

[SHUNNED] Wynliean: It is neither fitting to him, nor to the collective. However much aid it offers, it is hardly what his soul, and eventually our own should be tortured with.

Rehvenes continues 'I simply wish to be able to offer it to those who truely seek it.'

A shadowy figure unlaces her fingers, stroking her chin gently.

[SHUNNED] Wynliean: I think that you will find him to be quite adept of mind, though it seems at times he has some trouble speaking what he thinks.

A shadowy figure inquires 'And whom might those be? And perhaps more importantly, what might you do to aid those who are of a like mind?'

[SHUNNED] Wynliean: An after thought really, as I can attest that his actions and ideals are more like our own then he may even know.

[SHUNNED] a shadowy figure: You speak of torturing the collective?

[SHUNNED] Wynliean: Personally no, but to have a templar of the magics he holds.. is hardly fitting to our cause.

Rehvenes states, his voice softening 'To grant them wisdom for free is a foolish thing, however, I would point them the proper direction once they have proved that they truely wish it.'

[SHUNNED] Wynliean: Nor do I think that the lord of the waters would approve as Madam Lilisa offered.

SHUNNED] a shadowy figure: Mm, yes.

Rehvenes continues his answer 'However, it is important that they be known as those who truely seek it.'

A shadowy figure nods, then notes 'That response did not fit the given question.'
A shadowy figure says, rephrasing her statement 'Rather, I asked what you would do once you have met one that you know to be worthy of Knowing. How would you help them, and by extention Us?'

Rehvenes nods softly, saying 'Ah yes, I see now.'

A shadowy figure tilts her head slightly. Though you can see no eyes, nor any features of her face, you get the feeling as if you are being regarded.
The first thing that comes to your attention is that he is clean shaven, and
his armor is perfectly polished to a shine. His smooth face show few marks,
other than an occasional nick or small scar. A set of dark green eyes set
in his sockets, assessing the world around him with intriuge. His armor is
finely kept, and shows signs that it has been well cared for by it's owner.
His dark brown hair hangs down to his shoulders, well kept and cut. His
eyes dart about, and seem to constantly take in the world around him
Rehvenes is in excellent condition.

Rehvenes is using:
<worn on finger> (Glowing) a Ring of Fire
<worn on finger> (Humming) a Ring of Void
<worn around neck> a pendant of Lunus
<worn around neck> a necklace of wolves' teeth
<worn on torso> a charcoal black vest
<worn on head> (Glowing) the Dragon crown
<worn on legs> a pair of charcoal black leggings
<worn on feet> a pair of cruelly spiked boots
<worn on hands> (Humming) a pair of mud-covered gauntlets
<worn on arms> a pair of amber dragonscale sleeves
<worn as shield> a runed sapphire shield
<worn about body> the Mantle of Hatred
<worn about waist> (Glowing) an ornate belt buckle
<worn around wrist> a wide golden armband
<worn around wrist> a tattered, mud-caked leather bracer
<wielded> a barb-tipped javelin carved from oak
<floating nearby> a gem of guarding

Rehvenes answers 'I still stand by the statement that half of the worth of knowledge is discovery, but, I would aid them in any way that would not defeat the cause of learning. Be it by aiding them in the recovery of a tome, or perhaps by explaination. '

A shadowy figure notes 'Then you would aid with your blade, yet offer what knowledge you had when necessary.'
A shadowy figure says, leaning forward in her chair 'Then you would be a Vanguardsman, I presume. A.. protector, of Us.'

Your victim has left the game.
Rehvenes's eyes glaze over.
Rehvenes's eyes become clear again.
Rehvenes shakes his head, clearing his mind.
Rehvenes states 'I am sorry about that.'
Rehvenes nods, saying 'I would rather them drink from the fount of knowing by themself, but, I would aid them in reaching it.'
Rehvenes shifts a bit, then moves to the couch on the opposite side of the room.

A shadowy figure nods once, saying 'And yourself? If you led a crew to a Font of Knowledge, what would -your- reacton be?'

Rehvenes states, saying 'If knowledge is presented, I would take it upon myself to drink my share.'
Rehvenes leans his head back, taking in the smells of the room.

A shadowy figure flicks her wings slightly, saying 'Good.'
A shadowy figure curls a shadowed hand toward you, saying 'There is another matter, of course. Of your.. profession.'

Rehvenes nods, saying 'Yes, I do not believe this to be the proper role of a man of knowledge.'

A shadowy figure asks, withdrawing her hand 'Given your druthers, what would you prefer to be?'

Rehvenes holds up his hand, looking at his darkened ring, saying 'The magics of the void have always seemed a bit intresting.'

A shadowy figure gives a smooth chuckle.

Rehvenes says as he continues 'The ones who study it seem to be encouraged to search for at least some fraction of what they believe to be the truth.'

A shadowy figure notes 'Only.. interesting?'

Rehvenes smirks, saying 'Honestly, it infatuates me.'

A shadowy figure says, placing her hands in her lap 'You'll have to do far better than that, if you wish to convince me of a true intent.'
A shadowy figure notes 'For changing in this fashion is.. rather unorthodox.'

Rehvenes nods, saying 'Aye, so I have been told.'

A shadowy figure beckons 'So speak. Expound. What about the void, save the actions of others who study it, fascinates you?'
A shadowy figure muses 'And I do suppose you mean the arts of a templar. To change from one to the other is quite.. drastic.'

Rehvenes nods, saying 'Of course I do.'
Rehvenes explains 'The void seems as if it is a place of enless knowledge, of purity of thought.'
Rehvenes explains further 'And, I must say, knowledge seems to be the forefront of the studies.'
Rehvenes smirks, saying 'Unlike my own magics, which seem to support only what is visible and immidiate.'

A shadowy figure chuckles smoothly, agreeing 'That it is, indeed. Your penchant for sight is.. fascinating.'

Rehvenes says, leaning forward a bit in his seat 'The binding of such entities, the channeling of such a plane. Both seem as if they require a tremendous ammout of personal study, moreso than simply following the lead of an instructor.'

A shadowy figure nods her agreement, saying 'Quite so. It is a complex and intricate process, and not a path to be embarked upon by the weak.'

Rehvenes states 'Personal study brings about growth, both of knowledge and of sight.'

Rehvenes mutters to himself a bit.
Rehvenes hurts himself.

A shadowy figure begins 'Yes, that it does. Yet so, too, does a solid mind with which one might study.'

Rehvenes wounds himself!

A shadowy figure notes 'Such a mind is not easily had, especially when starved, or dying of thirst.'

Rehvenes nods, saying 'I simply though it rude to interupt the conversation.'
Rehvenes asks 'Might I bring about some nourishment for myself?'

A shadowy figure chuckles, saying 'There is a fine line betwixt interruption and necessity. Do what you must.'

Rehvenes utters the words 'create food'
A beef roast suddenly appears.
Rehvenes nods as he finishes the beef, saying 'I must say, this is the prime example of the magics I have studied for so long.'

A shadowy figure asks 'Oh?'

Rehvenes continues 'A plain, tasteless thing, barely able to satisfy body or mind.'
Rehvenes smirks, saying 'Nothing to read into much, just a slight observation.'

A shadowy figure notes 'Much can be read from small talk, Rehvenes. Keep your ears-- and I suppose in your case, your eyes-- open at all times, and you'll be surprised at what all you notice.'

Rehvenes nods in soft agreement.

/* He loses link again */

Rehvenes shakes his head, stating 'Seems to happen more and more often each day.'

A shadowy figure tsks 'A shame. You -must- look into that.'
A shadowy figure shrugs, then muses 'You realize, then, that it is far more than a simple matter to enroll you within the Company of the Serpent.'

Rehvenes nods, saying 'Aye, such a thing is more that of rebirth than change.'

A shadowy figure notes 'And I'm quite sure that some would be.. displeased.. with such a change.'

Rehvenes nods, saying 'For knowledge, such a thing is necessary.'

A shadowy figure agrees 'That it is.'
A shadowy figure interlaces her fingers, then nods once. She states, changing the subject 'Have you any questions for me, then? '

Rehvenes shakes his head, saying 'My mind is clear at the moment, although questions will likely crop up sooner than I believe possible.'

A shadowy figure tilts her head, asking 'Nothing at all? Considering what I spoke with you about, I am rather surprised.'

Rehvenes shrugs, saying 'Of course, questions are just the mind's natural way of bringing about learning.'

A shadowy figure notes 'Either you are incredibly astute, or not the student of knowledge that you profess to being.'

Rehvenes states 'Well, I do have one question, now that I take a moment.'

A shadowy figure leans back in her chair, asking 'So which is it?'
A shadowy figure nods, saying 'Good. Do ask.'

Rehvenes asks 'You spoke of many things, but, you failed to address the views that you have on love.'

A shadowy figure tilts her head back, laughing a laugh that resonates in the chamber.
A shadowy figure says, her laughing quieting 'That sounded like a personal question. I trust you aren't asking what -I- feel about love.'

Rehvenes nods, saying 'Of course not, I speak of the whole.'

A shadowy figure chuckles 'For with that, you will get an entirely different response than you would were you asking what the Whole thinks.'

Rehvenes smirks a bit, re-phrasing 'What does the Whole view of this particular emotion?'

A shadowy figure notes 'It is a tool for some, and a way of life for others. You should simply be cautioned that it is not to be taken to too much of an extreme, nor with one whose mind might cloud the Clarity of your own thoughts.'

Rehvenes nods an understanding nod.

A shadowy figure adds 'Though there is no prescription nor proscription for it.'
A shadowy figure flicks her wings a bit, saying 'That was an excellent question. Ask another.'

Rehvenes rubs his chin a bit.
Rehvenes nods quickly, asking 'Ahh, yes, I would like to know if the Whole feels about the current state of this world.'
Rehvenes leans back, stating 'It is a thing I have pondered a bit in my life.'

A shadowy figure answers 'We do feel, of course. Our reaction to the current state of the world is.. far from positive, of course.'

Rehvenes says softly 'As is mine. I feel the world grows blinder and more blunt of mind with every passing day.'

Rehvenes looks at the shuddeni citizen.

A shadowy figure notes 'Though it can now be considered something of an empty canvas, upon which one might paint the Truths of the land, or a network of lies. The actuality of the painting is up to those who hold the brush.'

You begin speaking shuddeni.

A shadowy figure frowns at the citizen, saying, in shuddeni, 'Which is clearly not you.'

The shuddeni citizen scowls at the shadowy figure, then hmphs and walks off.
The shuddeni citizen leaves south.

Rehvenes smirks.

A shadowy figure notes 'That was an easy question, and one I suspect you already knew the answer to. Ask another.'

Rehvenes agrees, saying 'A very close view to my own, although the analogy I used was that of an open field, free to be made what is wished.'
Rehvenes nods, saying 'Alright, now for a less rhetorical question.'
Rehvenes asks 'What of laws? Does the Whole agree with the mortal restrictions, not take a view, or shun them?'

A shadowy figure notes 'The Lord of Masks and the Great Wyrm both adhere to the Laws, though they are far above those created by mortal men.'

Rehvenes nods softly.

A shadowy figure adds 'Chaos is far from embraced by Us, though it is sometimes useful. It usually destroys itself, in the short run.'

Rehvenes states 'Aye, I believe the laws allow me a path in which to weave a web of control.'

A shadowy figure nods at you, agreeing 'And control is the ultimate goal, is it not?'
A shadowy figure chuckles, then states 'Anything.. else?'

Rehvenes smirks, saying 'Aye, that it is.'
Rehvenes shakes his head, saying 'Nay, there is nothing more I wish to ask at the time.'

A shadowy figure rises, saying 'Indeed. The next step is your Task, which I am sure you will recognize when you see.'
A shadowy figure adds 'I believe that the best course of action with regards to your Guild would be to petition the Lord of Masks, the Great Wyrm, and perhaps a few of the Thirteen.'
A shadowy figure taps her fingers soundlessly together, saying 'Now, as for the ones you might petition..'

Rehvenes asks 'How might I go about such an action?'

A shadowy figure tilts her head slightly, her faceless gaze once again set upon you.
A shadowy figure says, a smile audible in her tone 'Tzakmeqiel, perhaps. The defiler seems your type.'
A shadowy figure shrugs, saying 'Pen a scroll and release it into a pit. Petition the Gods and the Lords on your case, and perhaps they will grant amnesty upon you.'

Rehvenes nods.
Rehvenes states 'I shall do such.'

A shadowy figure nods once, saying 'And go, knowing that you shall be watched.'

local> A mist begins to gather at the figure's feet.

Rehvenes brings his fist across his chest, offering a bow.

A shadowy figure says, chuckling 'And do try not to die.'

Rehvenes smirks.
Rehvenes taps his pouch.

local> A curl of wispy darkness wraps itself around the figure, and in an instant she is gone.
