Quest For Dolgrael

• The premise for this quest is that Dolgrael has existed for a long time (see helpfile, like when he reintroduced metalworking post Sundering), but has for the last few decades been occupied with his forge and not the mortal realms. Thus, the legion of the Invincibles have also suffered in numbers, since they are less active. Hence the need for a quest to “catch the interest” of the god once more.

• The quest will be a one night quest. It shall start out with the groundwork a week (or longer depending on the protocol for these things) of gechoes. The echoes are mainly of a meteor that is blazing its way from the stars to Avendar. It will blaze brighter and brighter as the days pass. Here is when Vashel, the avatar of Dolgrael, will make her appearance in the mortal realms. Now she has always been here, but like Dolgrael, she has not been actively recruiting members for the legions due to her God’s lack of interest. I imagine that she can either send a note or have Cifete send a note to all (thus giving our resident bard something productive to do), stating to all adventurers that she wishes the meteor stone. This meteor stone being of a hardened metal not known to our realms. She of course wishes to give this to her God as a gift.

• The assembled adventurers will sally out to where the meteor has hit (outside the Hill Giant village). The hill giants will put up a stiff resistance at all these intruders (cue in more powerful hill giants of course). But once they beat past the perimeter to the crater and into the village they’ll find out that only half the meteor is still left. The other half being sold to Yithoul who also have an interest in this new metal.

• Now the adventurers must head to the pits of Yithoul. This is where we cue in many bloody battles through the streets of Yithoul as they fight into the temple, to find where it is. After practically slaughtering everyone they will find clues that the meteor was taken by the High Priest down to the basalts for a ritual, where he seeks to use this metal for some demonic purposes. The adventurers must fight through the Basalts where he has hidden himself, and fight past the demons that the Void Scholar has summoned forth. Once the high priest is defeated, the second half of the stone will be retrieved.

• Once the adventurers return though, they will find out the quest isn’t over yet. As they are waylayed by the bandit of the Brintors, and the stone is stolen. The bandit will be leading a group of NPC bandits (we might also use Raiders, but they’re weak right now anyways). The last part of the quest is that they must chase our bandit friend across the realms before finally beating him up and taking the completed stone to Vashel. She will summon Dolgrael and gift the meteors to him. She and him will announce that the Legion of Invincibles are now once again accepting new members into their ranks, and any adventurer may step up and apply.
