Clue NPCS
The Stoneshaper GM will give a random suggestion to talk to one of these NPCs for more information about stone locations. Each has different information about semi-precious gems, and gives a location for one precious gem.

Semi-Precious and Common Stone
There are 5-10 locations, mostly underground, for the semi-precious gems: topaz, aquamarine, bloodstone, jade, quartz, onyx, and opal. Some are in more remote and dangerous locations, and others are easily accessible.
For the common stone types,
- mountainous / deep underground - mostly granite
- Earendam and Arid Waste regions - mostly sandstone
- River valley / swamp / Nendor - mostly shale
- volcanic/igneous - mostly obsidian
- marble occasionally instead of (most visibly layered with) any of these, for variation
